Most routers can be accessed by opening an internet explorer (or equivalent) window and typing an IP address in the address bar. You will then be asked for a user name and password.

Some of the makes available are listed below, along with their IP adresses and login details.

Belkin router:  IP address = 192.168.2.1, no user name or password required

Linksys router: IP address = 192.168.1.1, leave the user name blank and the password is admin

DLink: IP address = 192.168.1.1, user name is admin and the password is admin

Netgear: IP address = 192.168.0.1, user name is admin and the password is password

BT 2WIRE or BT2700HGV: IP address = 192.168.1.254, no user name or password

Talktalk router: IP address = 192.168.1.1 , user name & password is admin

SKY router: IP address = 192.168.0.1, user name is admin and the password is sky
